About Me
Dr. Michelle Schimelpfenig is a graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Sanford Health, in Sioux falls SD. She is board certified in pediatrics, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition to numerous teaching awards, other honors include membership in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, and she is also a Fellow in the Aequitas Health Medical Honor Society. In 2020, she received the Young Physician Award from the South Dakota State Medical Association, in reconitigion of numerous achievements attained in the first ten years of her medical career. In addition to a clinical practice, she has held several prestigious positions within the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, most recently as an associate dean of their largest regional campus.
Dr. Schimelpfenig has a passion for professional development and is a Certified Executive Coach with the International Coaching Federation. She is qualified to administer several personality tests including Myers-Briggs and the Hogan Assessment. She offers coaching for individuals who wish to pursue administrative and executive opportunities by offering training and guidance to enhance skills already learned in medical training.
Executive coaching exists to allow leaders to reach their maximum potential. Dr. Schimelpfenig's goal is to equip you with the tools and insight you need to successfully navigate a situation or achieve a professional goal by gaining an understanding of one's own core strengths and/or areas that need improvement.
